About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a project-based summer internship for students interested in emergency preparedness, response, and meteorology. You will work alongside a dedicated mentor to research and execute an objective-based project. This role includes opportunities to participate in cross-functional activities, attend professional development workshops, and present your findings to the management team at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Support program communications, reporting, and business analytics initiatives.
- Create engaging communication materials, such as promotional videos and newsletters.
- Build and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and insights.
- Perform budget analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop reporting tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary school.
- Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Enrollment in school for Fall 2027.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Studies in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Climate Sciences, Computer Science, Programming, or a related field.
- An official digital copy of your transcript.

- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Starting at $21.00 per hour.
