About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a summer internship program for students to gain professional experience. You will work on a project-based assignment under the guidance of a dedicated mentor. This role involves active participation in cross-functional activities and requires a final presentation of your achievements to the management team.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project with your mentor.
- Perform GIS updates and file scanning tasks.
- Participate in company activities, such as power plant tours and professional development workshops.
- Present your project deliverables and lessons learned in an open forum at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary school.
- Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Enrollment in school for the Fall 2027 semester.
- A degree path in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Real Estate, Land Management, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to provide an official digital transcript from your institution's Registrar.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The work modality is on-site in Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
