About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Tunnels Engineering Intern to join the Infrastructure group. Based in our Pittsburgh office, you will support global projects by applying engineering principles to tunnels and underground structures. This is a full-time, paid position that requires an on-site presence.
What you'll do#
- Design underground infrastructure that meets quality objectives, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collect, review, and analyze engineering data to meet project goals.
- Prepare reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and design calculations.
- Perform construction inspections.
- Assist with detailed design preparation and support the creation of drawings from specifications.
- Coordinate with technicians and other engineers.
- Provide support to senior engineers and designers as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering, or construction management at an ABET accredited university.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- A willingness to travel and work on-site, including at remote locations.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred.
