About the role#
Hatch is looking for a Transit Engineering Student to join the team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work from the Vancouver office and report to the Transit Projects group. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will contribute to transit projects such as SkyTrain and Light Rail. You will work alongside engineers and designers to gain experience in both the office and on project sites.
What you'll do#
- Assist with conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for transit projects.
- Perform site inspections and complete design calculations.
- Prepare design submissions and technical reports.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to complete project deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Relevant coursework in Civil, Transportation, Structural, Geotechnics, Utilities, or Project Management.
- Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Civil3D.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
