About the role#
Hatch is looking for a Mineral Processing Coop student to join our Vancouver office. You will work alongside senior engineers and designers on projects ranging from concept to execution. This role focuses on process design, project engineering, and financial analysis for precious and base metals projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide process engineering design support for brownfield, greenfield, de-bottlenecking, construction, and operations projects.
- Develop process design criteria, process flow diagrams, and mass balances across various commodities.
- Perform basic and detailed design of process equipment, including technical selection, calculations, and sizing.
- Prepare RFQs, including specifications, scopes of work, and data sheets.
- Evaluate vendor quotations for technical adequacy, budget constraints, and client requirements.
- Prepare CAPEX, OPEX, and project reports.
- Check and prepare project documents, calculations, and drawing deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic performance.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and vendors.
- Aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams and a commitment to engineering excellence.
