About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027, you will work alongside experienced engineers to build systems that power our AI products. You will gain hands-on experience across the stack, contribute to real features, and see how your work impacts users in production. This internship lasts 12 to 16 weeks and is designed for students who want to learn how modern application-layer and GenAI products are built.
What you'll do#
- Own a project end-to-end, from coding and testing to deploying it to production.
- Present your work to peers and leaders across the company.
- Write clean, maintainable code and take ownership of the quality of your output.
- Build knowledge of our systems and users to inform product discussions.
- Debug problems and treat quality as an urgent priority.
- Collaborate through code reviews, pair programming, design reviews, and technical documentation.
- Work on areas such as retrieval over large document collections, interfaces for AI systems, multi-region compute infrastructure, enterprise agents, or secure systems.
- Evaluate frontier models alongside senior engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Previous internship experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Go.
- Solid general computer science knowledge.
- A bias toward action and experience building projects from start to finish.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
- Internship experience at an early-stage startup is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in San Francisco, California.
- Compensation is $62 to $72 per hour.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
