About the role#
Hartford Athletic is seeking students to join the USL Women's team as Operations Interns. This role offers exposure to the front office, training sessions, matchday execution, and team apparel management. You will work with a dedicated staff supervisor to reach defined learning goals throughout the season. This is an unpaid, part-time seasonal position designed to fit around your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Organize files, schedules, rosters, and contact lists.
- Prepare onboarding packets and track player and staff forms.
- Take notes at staff meetings and prepare routine materials.
- Set up and break down training sessions, including field equipment, water, and ice.
- Assist with kit distribution, laundry, and equipment returns.
- Shadow staff on travel planning and visiting team logistics.
- Support home match setup, signage, fan entry, and post-match breakdown.
- Help with giveaway distribution, halftime activities, and youth club group nights.
- Assist at community events and youth clinics, including tabling and sign-ups.
- Capture photos and video at matches and events for the marketing team.
- Collect sizing information and prepare apparel order lists.
- Receive, label, and distribute team merchandise while tracking sign-outs and returns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a college or university.
- Reliability, strong organization, and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to the stadium, training sites, and event locations.
- An interest in women's soccer, women's sports, or sports business is preferred, and a soccer playing or coaching background is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Windsor, Connecticut.
- Term: Mid-April through June 30, 2027.
- Schedule: Two to three shifts per week, plus a minimum of seven home games, including evenings and weekends.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit is available.
