About the role#
The 2027 M&A Summer Associate program is designed to provide a realistic experience that simulates the role of a full-time associate at Harris Williams. You will work alongside seasoned banking professionals on live transactions, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of client engagements. This role is based in Minneapolis and is a full-time, on-site summer position.
What you'll do#
- Drive work forward in partnership with analysts and own outcomes from start to finish.
- Collaborate within deal teams to contribute to deal strategy and client recommendations.
- Engage with clients and senior bankers to provide unique perspectives.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality, client-ready work products.
- Manage multiple workstreams to ensure consistent, on-time execution.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting.
- Strong learning agility and a proactive approach to incorporating feedback.
- Skilled in MS Office, specifically Excel (formulas, data validation, tables) and PowerPoint.
- A working understanding of financial statements, including how the income, cash flow, and balance sheets connect.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends and articulate their impact.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
