About the role#
The 2027 M&A Summer Associate program is designed to provide a realistic experience that closely simulates the responsibilities of a full-time associate. You will learn the deal process through live transaction work and participate in a structured learning environment. This role is a full-time, paid summer internship based in San Francisco.
What you'll do#
- Drive work forward in partnership with analysts.
- Engage directly with clients and senior bankers.
- Participate in live transaction work to shape the trajectory of clients' businesses.
- Develop into a well-rounded advisor by seeing the full lifecycle of multiple client engagements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Curious and proactive approach to learning and applying new information.
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and tailor communication to the audience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills (including formulas, data validation, and tables).
- Working understanding of accounting and finance, including the connections between income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
- Ability to identify trends in complex data sets.
