About the role#
The Editorial Intern works with the Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink teams to support children’s and young adult book projects. You will assist the editorial staff throughout the publishing pipeline, from initial research to final proofreading. This is a paid, remote position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn the production processes for Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink.
- Apply the Chicago Manual of Style and The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style to editorial work.
- Study different types of children’s books, including board books, picture books, middle grade, and young adult titles.
- Practice content editing, copyediting, and proofreading for both content and typesetting.
- Prepare title information forms and conduct book-related research.
- Provide feedback on prospective manuscripts and projects.
- Attend team meetings, editorial boards, and production meetings.
- Learn about common typesettings, layouts, and ancillary book features.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or master's program in English, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Availability to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
- Strong command of English grammar and language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A resume and a cover letter addressed to the Hiring Team.
- Candidates available for future full-time work in 2027 or 2028 are eligible.
- Up to 1 year of work experience.
- Previous copyediting or proofreading experience is preferred.

- This position is fully remote.
- Compensation is $18 per hour.
