About the role#
The Sales Intern joins the HarperCollins Canada team for a 6-month contract. You will report to a Sales Representative and gain exposure to the full publishing process. This role involves working with various departments to understand how books reach readers. You will receive mentorship from a senior team member and have opportunities to meet with employees across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Create, update, and distribute catalogues and order forms for accounts and Sales Reps.
- Present titles for sell-in to accounts through phone, video, and in-person meetings.
- Conduct research and sales analysis, including merchandising tasks like audits and reporting.
- Assist with the Seasonal Sales Conference, including setup and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Place orders for accounts, authors, and events.
- Manage book mailings for Sales Reps and Directors.
- Support account outreach through online research and store visits.
- Assist with tasks for the CGTA Gift and Home Market, including show setup and teardown.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a university or college education or equivalent work experience.
- Retail or selling experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfort with standard PC software, including Adobe, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
- Familiarity with digital platforms and social media.
- Eligibility to work and be paid in Canada.

- This is a full-time, paid internship at $20 per hour.
- The role is based in Toronto, Ontario, and follows a hybrid work model.
