About the role#
The Clinical Nursing Assistant Intern supports the daily operations of the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute. This role involves maintaining clinical environments and assisting the nursing staff to ensure patient care runs smoothly. Interns complete their program by presenting a summary of their experience, skills developed, and project contributions to mentors and peers.
What you'll do#
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Disinfect rooms and equipment after every patient visit.
- Clean and restock exam rooms at the end of each day.
- Manage room logistics, including plugging in vital sign machines, turning off computers, and switching off lights.
- Support administrative tasks by checking incoming faxes, distributing documents to nurse case managers, and entering PSAs.
- Prepare OTVs for Doctor’s Day each Wednesday.
- Copy forms as needed throughout the clinic.
- Clear old simulation sheets and consent form folders.
- Review upcoming patient schedules and make necessary adjustments.
