About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in creative writing, content development, and editorial planning. You will work with writers, editors, and product teams to create content for greeting cards and related products. The role focuses on developing concepts that build connections with consumers.
What you'll do#
- Write original copy for greeting cards and Hallmark products.
- Research trends, voices, and cultural insights relevant to Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
- Learn how Hallmark plans and curates greeting card programs.
- Analyze editorial content and consumer data to find new opportunities.
- Develop concepts that connect with consumers.
- Collaborate with writers, designers, and product teams.
- Present your creative work and recommendations to business leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- A graduation date between December 2027 and May 2030.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Interest in content creation, publishing, media, or product development.
- Understanding of social and cultural trends for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
- Experience from coursework, student organizations, freelance work, or personal projects.
- A portfolio or writing samples are encouraged but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The program lasts 12 weeks, starting in late May and ending in early August.
- This position is hybrid, requiring work from the headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, and your local summer residence.
- Relocation to the Kansas City metro area is required for this role.
