About the role#
Halff is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to join the Water Resources team in Austin, Texas. This internship provides hands-on experience in drainage and stormwater analysis while supporting water resources planning and modeling projects. You will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Perform drainage and stormwater analysis.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
- Complete drafting CAD work and engineering calculations.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and team-building abilities.
- Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid hourly.
- Note: Halff does not provide or pay for housing for internships.
