About the role#
H2M architects + engineers is hiring a student intern for the Structural Engineering Department. This role offers exposure to professional projects and hands-on experience in a consulting firm. The program runs from June 7th to August 13th, 2027. This is a paid, on-site position based in Melville, New York.
What you'll do#
You will work with experienced professionals to support structural engineering projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting project managers with construction drawings and specifications
- Performing computer drafting using AutoCAD and Revit
- Gathering and compiling project data
- Conducting site visits and attending client meetings
- Participating in professional development workshops
- Completing a final presentation on your project goals and achievements
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a sophomore or higher in a Civil Engineering or related program at an accredited institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
- An eagerness to learn new skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
