About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship program at the Burns & Wilcox office in Lake Mary, Florida. You will work 40 hours per week on-site with a specialty underwriting team focused on commercial, personal, or professional insurance lines. This role offers exposure to the specialty insurance industry through hands-on tasks and collaboration with senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Participate in agent marketing calls and sit in on client meetings.
- Help with insurance policy renewals.
- Manage new business and renewal data in Microsoft Excel.
- Identify the best programs or markets to meet agency client needs.
- Communicate policy changes and loss notices.
- Partner with senior leaders on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- Technical skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
