About the role#
The EHS Intern will support environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our chemical manufacturing facility. You will work alongside EHS professionals, production teams, and site leadership to assist with safety audits, regulatory compliance, waste management, and continuous improvement projects. This is a 12-week paid program running from late May through mid-August.
What you'll do#
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses for non-routine tasks and suggest risk mitigation measures.
- Perform routine hazardous waste inspections to maintain environmental compliance.
- Identify and implement new recycling and sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct 5S audits across departments and track corrective actions.
- Review Standard Operating Procedures to ensure they meet EHS requirements.
- Conduct and document contractor safety observations.
- Create toolbox talks, safety communications, and training materials to improve employee engagement.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Rising junior or senior standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interest in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and manufacturing operations.
- Effective organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
