About the role#
The Demand Planning Intern will join the supply chain team to improve forecast visibility and data-driven decision-making. You will work with demand planners and cross-functional partners to analyze trends, customer patterns, and forecast performance. This role provides exposure to core demand planning processes while you contribute to dashboards and analysis that improve forecast quality and planning efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Analyze demand planning data to identify trends, forecast gaps, and opportunities to improve planning accuracy.
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards to improve visibility into demand trends, forecast performance, and key business metrics.
- Clean, organize, and validate data from multiple sources to support reporting and planning recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reports, forecast reviews, or exception tracking using Power BI, Excel, or AI-enabled tools.
- Apply AI concepts to explore practical use cases like demand signal analysis, forecast summarization, and planning insight generation.
- Prepare summaries, visualizations, and recommendations for supply chain and commercial stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Rising junior or senior status.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with large data sets, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to Power BI, data visualization, SQL, Python, or similar analytics tools.
- Effective communication, curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new digital tools.
- Interest in demand planning, forecasting, analytics, and business process improvement.
Location & details#
- Location: St. Paul, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-week program from late May to mid-August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $22-$25 per hour.
