About the role#
The Public Markets team at GuideStone Capital Management focuses on asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management. As an intern, you will support the team in selecting and overseeing external investment managers across various asset classes, including equity, fixed income, and alternative strategies. You will gain hands-on experience in how the team evaluates managers and uses data and AI tools to support the investment process.
What you'll do#
- Assist analysts with research and monitor external investment managers by gathering information on performance, holdings, and fees.
- Build and test simple pre-trade tools and templates using Excel, Python, or R to support rebalancing, cash flow, and exposure analysis.
- Extract and organize data from eVestment and other providers.
- Structure and tag research files to enable the team to use Microsoft Copilot for summarizing information.
- Attend manager meetings, due diligence calls, and internal discussions to draft notes and summaries.
- Conduct research on peer groups, benchmarks, and asset classes as assigned.
- Complete a summer project and present your findings to the investments team.
What you'll need#
- You are an incoming Junior or Senior and will remain a student throughout the internship.
- A degree concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Demonstrated interest in public markets through coursework, investment clubs, student-managed funds, or personal research.
- Basic programming experience in Python, R, or a similar language.
- Interest or experience in using Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools for research and automation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and high attention to detail.
- Experience with Power BI and familiarity with Bloomberg are considered pluses.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, a self-starter mindset, and a solid work ethic.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Dallas, Texas.
