Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

Guardian Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to gain practical experience under the direction of a licensed Staff Pharmacist. This role is designed to help prepare interns for professional practice upon graduation by working within a team-oriented environment to support medication management for patients with complex care needs.

What you'll do#

• Receive and interpret prescription orders from healthcare providers, exercising professional judgment regarding dispensing.
• Verify the legality and feasibility of drug dispensing by checking for patient allergies and medication incompatibilities.
• Compound IV, topical, and oral medications.
• Prepare medications for final dispensing, including order entry, filling, and packaging.
• Evaluate inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock levels for station supplies.
• Transfer prescriptions and communicate with patients, doctors, and nurses as needed.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Currently enrolled in Pharmacy school and in good standing.
• Current Intern Pharmacist License where applicable.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Advanced computer skills; experience with pharmacy operations systems is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and maintain high attention to detail.
