About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Hartley, Iowa. You will gain hands-on experience in agronomy and agricultural retail operations. The position involves working on-site and requires travel to customer fields.
What you'll do#
- Inspect customer fields to monitor crop health and identify threats like weeds, insects, or diseases.
- Use Integrated Pest Management techniques and GPS technology to document findings.
- Photograph crops and complete inspection reports for customers and agronomy specialists.
- Discuss your findings with customers to answer questions and provide service.
- Assist with general agronomy tasks and agricultural retail operations.
- Help maintain and repair facility equipment.
- Attend technical training sessions and team meetings.
- Drive a company vehicle to various field locations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Basic understanding of production agriculture.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel independently.
- Physical ability to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections.
- Willingness to participate in all required training sessions.
- Ability to lift 51 to 70 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
