About the role#
Join Heritage FS as a GROWMARK Agronomy Intern for the summer of 2027. You will gain experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role involves learning about crop production, field scouting, and precision agriculture. You will participate in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes mentorship, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy professionals with daily operations and customer service.
- Learn about crop protection products, plant nutrition, and agronomic recommendations.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
- Use precision agriculture tools for scouting and data collection.
- Manage product inventory, including ordering and receiving.
- Attend customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
- Travel to FS locations to build relationships with employees and industry partners.
- Complete a summer internship project and present your findings.
- Follow safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Attend three required events: Orientation, a Mid-Summer Meeting, and a Conclusion Meeting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing, with preference given to students entering their junior or senior year.
- A strong interest in agronomy and crop production.
- Communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work at elevated heights.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to participate in all required training and internship meetings.

- Term: Summer 2027 (minimum 12 weeks, starting by May 24, 2027).

- Compensation: $19 per hour.
