About the role#
Join GRAINCO FS as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role is part of the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes professional development, mentorship, and a capstone project you will present at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Learn about crop production, plant nutrition, and crop protection products.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data using precision agriculture tools.
- Assist with agronomy trials, research projects, and field demonstrations.
- Help with product inventory, ordering, and general operational tasks.
- Participate in customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
- Travel to various FS locations to build relationships with industry partners and customers.
- Complete and present a summer internship project.
- Follow all safety, regulatory, and stewardship requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop and Soil Science, or a related field.
- In good academic standing, with preference for students entering their Junior or Senior year.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and work at elevated heights.
- Commitment to follow all company safety policies, including OSHA and DOT procedures.

- Location: Ottawa, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (minimum 12 weeks, starting by May 24, 2027).
- Compensation: $19 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time internship position.
