About the role#
We are looking for students to join our team as Sourcing Indirect and Direct Material Buying Co-ops. This is a full-time, paid position based in Schofield, Wisconsin. You will work on-site Monday through Friday during standard business hours. We have openings for terms starting in Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist buyers with placing and tracking purchase orders.
- Analyze inventory levels and recommend adjustments.
- Research vendors, products, and market trends.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, and order confirmations.
- Gather and analyze data to create supplier scorecards.
- Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Collaborate with internal teams including logistics, materials specialists, and engineering.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
- Assist in compiling and developing purchased component forecasts.
- Participate in meetings with vendors and internal teams.
- Document and track vendor quality incidents using our quality management system.
- Support vendor contract activities and strategic discussions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- On track to graduate in the next 3 semesters or less.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Curiosity to learn and improve processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to collaborate with peers, leaders, and vendors while managing multiple priorities.
- Exposure to ERP or SAP systems is a plus.
