About the role#
This internship provides oversight for cost and engineering tasks at our plant. You will help ensure efficient operations and regulatory compliance while supporting the plant manager, foreman, and superintendents.
What you'll do#
- Calculate production quantities and report costs to management.
- Prepare, implement, and test SWPPP and hazardous materials plans.
- Conduct operational improvement studies and suggest process changes.
- Participate in safety audits and meetings to maintain a safe work environment.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance for material processing equipment.
- Manage spare parts inventories and perform semi-annual reconciliations.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in construction materials processing.
- Knowledge of plant operations, mechanical requirements, and the materials business.
- Familiarity with Hot Mix Asphalt Plants is a plus.
- Understanding of relevant federal, state, and local laws.
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively with management.
- Ability to build relationships with regulatory agencies.
