Estimating Intern

About the role#

The Estimating Intern assists construction engineering operations to ensure work complies with all engineering standards. This role involves supporting project teams with data, documentation, and technical support throughout the bidding and construction process.

What you'll do#

• Interpret design drawings and specifications for takeoff and bidding purposes.
• Prepare and distribute documentation, including status reports, punch lists, and sketches of completed work.
• Develop job-essential data such as quantity take-offs and material pricing to support accurate estimates.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials, delivery schedules, and construction requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed to assist with cost controls.
• Assist with change orders and estimating tasks to meet evolving project needs.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or field support.
• Proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or using a calculator.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license.
