About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Watsonville, California, supporting construction engineering operations. This role focuses on ensuring that construction projects meet engineering standards and project requirements.
What you'll do#
- Interpret designs and drawings for project takeoffs, bidding, and construction.
- Prepare and distribute project documentation, including status reports, punch lists, and sketches.
- Provide technical support regarding project materials, delivery dates, and construction schedules.
- Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches.
- Develop quantity take-offs and material pricing to support accurate bids.
- Maintain records of quantities for work performed and materials installed.
- Support corporate safety initiatives and maintain a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or field support.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Ability to perform trigonometric calculations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to take on responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and work in outside conditions around heavy equipment.
