About the role#
The Human Resources Internship provides project-based experience across the HR function. This role serves as an entry point into the Grainger Human Resources Leadership Development Program. You will work with HR business partners and leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies and solutions.
What you'll do#
- Partner with HR business partners and leaders to identify people-related needs and HR strategies.
- Analyze workforce, operational, and financial data to find trends and develop insights.
- Connect HR initiatives across talent, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, and employee engagement to business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Total Rewards, and HR Operations.
- Develop executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and recommendations.
- Research emerging HR trends, AI, and workforce technologies.
- Present strategic recommendations and project outcomes to senior HR leadership.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree or MBA currently in progress in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Labor Relations, or a related discipline.
- Two or more years of professional experience in Human Resources or HR-related work.
- Knowledge of HR practices and concepts.
- Experience analyzing workforce, operational, and financial information.
- Experience developing presentations, dashboards, and recommendations using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of business operations and emerging topics affecting the workforce, including AI and technology enablement.
- Professional experience in operations, supply chain, consulting, finance, engineering, military leadership, or sales is preferred.
