About the role#
Graco offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing degrees in Machine Tool Technology or maintenance-related fields. This role provides direct manufacturing experience, allowing you to work on advanced equipment, support special projects, and contribute to the daily operations of our production and maintenance teams. You will collaborate with experienced professionals and receive supervision while developing technical skills in a practical environment.
What you'll do#
- Operate assigned machinery and learn simple setups and troubleshooting under the guidance of skilled staff.
- Perform quality checks using hard gauging and CMM equipment to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Package, wash, and deburr parts according to operation layouts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
- Support maintenance teams by working on CNC machines, test benches, assembly fixtures, and automation equipment.
- Train alongside maintenance employees, search for technical bulletins, and help organize maintenance storage areas.
- Assist team members across all shifts to meet department goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year Machine Tool Technology or maintenance-related program, such as electrical, electronics, hydraulics, fluid power, or robotics.
- Good standing with your school and a minimum C average.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Commitment to following all safety rules and requirements.
- Ability to sit for 1 hour, stand for 3 hours, and walk for 4 hours during an 8-hour shift.
- Capacity to occasionally lift and load up to 45 lbs or more.
