About the role#
Graco offers engineering internships that provide hands-on experience across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, industrial, and packaging engineering. As an intern, you will join project teams to solve real-world problems, contribute to product development, and support manufacturing operations. You will work alongside professionals to apply your academic coursework to practical applications, participate in project meetings, and present your achievements at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Provide general production support and participate in hands-on troubleshooting.
- Assist in capital equipment justification and evaluate the need for system upgrades.
- Review and analyze operational layouts to suggest improvements.
- Participate in cost of quality improvements and root cause analysis.
- Assist in new product development, including design ideation, prototyping, and testing.
- Design test plans, perform tests, and analyze results against design standards.
- Develop embedded firmware, control algorithms, circuit boards, and user interfaces.
- Assemble and install fixtures, tooling, and robotic or ancillary equipment.
- Create packaging specifications and update bills of materials (BOMs).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer, or Packaging Engineering, or a comparable field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire for hands-on work.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
