About the role#
The Financial Audit Co-op Student position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public sector auditing. You will work within a collaborative office environment to support audits that strengthen government accountability and transparency. This role involves approximately 13 weeks of work, with an anticipated term from May 4, 2026, to July 31, 2026. Some travel within Nova Scotia may be required.
What you'll do#
- Assist with audit planning, fieldwork, and documentation.
- Test and evaluate internal controls and transactions.
- Perform basic data analysis and review business processes.
- Support audit teams in assessing compliance with legislation and policies.
- Work collaboratively as part of an audit team in a professional environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary degree program with a major in accounting (3rd or 4th year).
- Must be returning to school for at least one academic term following the work term.
- Progress toward completion of prerequisites for future entry into the Canadian CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
