About the role#
This internship takes place within the Direction des opérations de structure-tunnel et d'entretien (DOSTE) of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable. The team manages the maintenance of tunnels, pumping stations, and ventilation towers for the Montréal metropolitan area. You will gain exposure to electrical systems, lighting, and safety equipment while working on-site.
What you'll do#
- Assist the operations manager, team leads, and technicians with maintenance tasks at towers and pumping stations.
- Research technical documents and plans within ministry databases.
- Accompany service providers during maintenance work.
- Plan and track preventative maintenance schedules.
- Help the team resolve maintenance incidents and improve device performance.
- Complete administrative tasks related to the maintenance program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a first-cycle undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering.
- Current standing that allows for an internship that meets your program requirements.
- A valid class 5 driver's license.
- A valid ASP Construction card.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Proficiency in French suitable for all technical and administrative tasks.
- Reliability and the ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Montréal, Quebec.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 23, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, 35 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid position with a minimum hourly rate of 25.68 $ plus a 6.5% supplement for benefits.
- Availability: Occasional evening, night, or weekend work may be required.
