About the role#
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking Process and Equipment Engineering interns for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our 300mm factory to support semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role involves direct collaboration with equipment and maintenance teams to improve factory performance and efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve early problem detection and enhance LOD.
- Lower costs related to chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Develop and enhance process performance measurement techniques.
- Lead improvement projects and present your findings.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff.
- Maintain safety standards and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.
What you'll need#
- You are at least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- You maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and are in good academic standing.
- You can work at least 40 hours per week.
- You are fluent in written and spoken English.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- We look for leadership experience, project management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with SPC controls is preferred.
- You should have an interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline workflows.
- You possess strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- You can understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
