About the role#
As a Development intern within the CDS Business Strategy and Operations team, you will contribute to projects that support our mission while gaining professional experience. You will have opportunities to participate in leadership presentations, networking events, and community volunteer programs throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Learn about current project management workflows including planning, status reporting, and risk management.
- Identify opportunities to use AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to streamline routine project management tasks.
- Support the development of a project management prototype using Microsoft Copilot.
- Document business needs, user scenarios, workflow requirements, and prompt examples.
- Create and refine AI-supported project management outputs like meeting summaries and status updates.
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and technical partners to validate use cases.
- Participate in testing activities by creating scenarios and documenting findings.
- Collect user feedback to evaluate the usefulness of the prototype.
- Prepare process documentation, user guidance, and presentation materials.
- Showcase your work with a final presentation near the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student in Computer Science or a related field.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 week full-time internship between May and August.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Minimum age of 18 at the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience or coursework in process mapping, workflow analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or documentation.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft 365, Power BI, SharePoint, Smartsheet, or Visio is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
