About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Facilities Engineering Intern to join our Engineering Design Organization. You will work alongside Senior Mechanical Engineers on industrial mechanical and process piping projects. These projects include the design of manufacturing facilities, compressible gas and liquid transfer facilities, and industrial ventilation systems.
What you'll do#
- Determine material of construction requirements for piping and storage tank systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for fluid transfer systems.
- Perform basic mechanics of materials calculations for piping design.
- Develop specifications for the procurement of pumps, compressors, blowers, and industrial ventilation systems.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong design interest in solid body mechanics, thermal fluid science, heat transfer, and the dynamics of rotating equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to travel and work in the field as needed, which may include overnight travel.

- Location: Syracuse, New York.
- Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour based on experience.
