About the role#
GHD is seeking an Indigenous Engineer Intern or co-op student to join our teams working on environmental remediation and natural resources projects. This paid internship provides professional experience, mentorship, and exposure to multidisciplinary consulting work across Atlantic Canada. The program is specifically designed to offer opportunities to students who self-identify as members of Indigenous communities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with client, contractor, and internal communications, including the preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting records.
- Participate in project-related site visits and field work to support project understanding and field activities.
- Conduct research related to ongoing projects.
- Prepare documentation, such as funding applications, project progress reports, completion reports, and project memorandums.
- Provide support for project administrative tasks.
- Participate in design and project team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations - status or non-status, Métis, and Inuit).
- Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or a recent graduate), or an equivalent combination of education and work or life experience.
- Demonstrated interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, or the environment through work, education, or volunteer experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence.
