Indigenous Engineer Intern/co-op

About the role#

GHD is seeking an Indigenous Engineer Intern/co-op to join teams focused on environmental remediation and natural resources services. This paid internship provides students who self-identify as members of Indigenous communities with professional experience, mentorship, and exposure to multidisciplinary consulting work across Atlantic Canada.

What you'll do#

• Assist with client, contractor, and internal communications, including the preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting records.
• Participate in project-related site visits and field work to support project understanding.
• Conduct research related to ongoing projects.
• Prepare documentation such as funding applications, project progress reports, completion reports, and project memorandums.
• Provide support for project administrative tasks.
• Participate in design and project team meetings.

What you'll need#

• Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations – status or non-status, Métis, and Inuit).
• Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduate), or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience.
• Preference for candidates in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Biology.
• Demonstrated interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, or the environment through work, education, or volunteer experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.

• Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (three days per week in-office).
• Status: Full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
