About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our team as an Electrical/Instrumentation Drafter Intern. You will provide CAD and BIM support for engineering design projects. These projects involve electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls, and industrial process facilities such as water treatment plants and utility infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain electrical and instrumentation drawings and models using CAD and BIM software.
- Prepare project deliverables like electrical plans, instrumentation diagrams, schedules, and construction drawing packages.
- Support engineers and designers during design reviews, project kickoff meetings, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Perform drawing updates, revisions, and documentation development under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Communicate with project team members through Microsoft Teams, email, and meetings.
- Learn and apply company drafting standards, design practices, and quality procedures.
- Assist with document management, plotting, field verification, and updating as-built drawings with mentorship from your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Experience with Revit is an asset.
- Interest in electrical power systems, instrumentation and controls, and industrial engineering design.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
