About the role#
The Engineering Internship is part of the G.Start program at Gerdau North America. This paid, project-focused internship prepares students for future technical and managerial positions within our manufacturing operations. You will gain hands-on experience in the steel industry while working alongside our team in Monroe, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the G.Start program to develop your professional skills.
- Complete project-focused assignments that contribute to our operations.
- Learn to use industry tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAPEX processes.
- Prepare for potential future technical or managerial roles within the company.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student entering your Junior or Senior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5, with a 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership potential through student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Initiative and effective problem-solving skills.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship.
