About the role#
This is an 8-month paid internship with the Maintenance and Reliability team at our Selkirk facility. You will work on-site during the Fall 2027 and Winter 2028 terms. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, allowing you to contribute to engineering projects and maintenance planning.
What you'll do#
- Update facility and equipment drawings.
- Assist engineers with capital expenditure improvement projects.
- Manage smaller non-capital projects independently.
- Coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.
- Help manage contractors on-site.
- Plan maintenance jobs and handle parts ordering.
- Execute design projects.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, though 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience using SolidWorks design software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and learn new tasks quickly.
- Leadership experience in student organizations or extracurricular activities.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
