About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Selkirk, Manitoba. You will work directly with our Environmental and Safety teams to gain hands-on experience in the steel manufacturing industry. This role requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Update and manage existing environmental and safety procedures.
- Revise spill response items and spill procedures.
- Maintain waste and recycling documentation.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and assist with internal audits.
- Lead smaller projects related to environmental and safety initiatives.
- Facilitate safety orientations for personnel.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of a degree in a Biosystems or Engineering discipline, specifically specializing in Environmental Science.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, with a preference for a 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Experience in leadership roles within student organizations or extra-curricular activities is a plus.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for current or future sponsorship.
