About the role#
General Motors is hiring for a Manufacturing Supply Chain Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at one of our manufacturing facilities. You will gain experience in a plant environment while developing strategic perspectives and working on supply chain management goals.
What you'll do#
- Develop strategic perspectives and goals within Supply Chain management.
- Work in a plant environment to drive results through innovation and creativity.
- Prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
- Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
- Respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
- Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically handle items up to 40 pounds.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or Business/Management.
- Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week in a plant environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in your field of study, extracurricular activities, or service organizations.
- Experience or exposure to commodities, logistics, packaging, manufacturing, procurement software, materials management, market data, and blueprints.
- Evidence of integrity, honesty, accountability, and trust.

Location & details#
- This is an on-site role. You will be expected to report to your assigned facility daily.
- Available locations: Arlington, TX; Brookville, OH; Detroit, MI; Fort Wayne, IN; Grand Rapids, MI; Kansas City, KS; Lansing, MI; Parma, OH; Saginaw, MI; Spring Hill, TN; and Toledo, OH.
- Start dates are May 24, 2027, and June 14, 2027.
