About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at General Matter, you will develop performant and safe software. You will work alongside electrical, chemical, manufacturing, and nuclear engineers, as well as physicists. This role involves tackling complex technical problems where reliability and performance are critical.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement high-performance software systems using C++ and Python.
- Contribute to system architecture, performance trade-offs, and technology selection.
- Participate in technical design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
- Build and maintain automated testing and CI/CD pipelines to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to solve ambiguous technical challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in C++ or Python.
- Strong grasp of CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
