About the role#
This internship provides practical experience within the defense industry. You will work alongside engineers to support the quality requirements and standards for nuclear submarines. This role is based in New London, Connecticut.
What you'll do#
- Review drawings, disclosures, specifications, and technical work documents to identify quality and inspection requirements.
- Resolve issues related to design and construction.
- Conduct formal investigations of unplanned events.
- Perform surveillances, audits, and assessments to provide quality oversight.
- Support quality functions, including external audits and corrective action boards.
- Perform quality data and trend analysis.
- Support Discipline Steering Teams and model development.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student at a college or university, having completed your freshman year.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- US citizenship.
- Ability to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for at least eight consecutive weeks between May 2027 and September 2027.
- Minimum age of 18.

- This is an on-site internship located in New London, Connecticut.
- You must arrange your own housing and transportation.
- This position is paid and requires full-time availability.
