About the role#
This internship provides practical exposure to the defense industry. You will work alongside professionals to support human resources functions. Each intern receives a mentor for the duration of the program. This is a paid, full-time role that requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
Your responsibilities depend on your assigned department. You may support the following areas:
- Human Resources Business Partners: Strengthen leadership capability through coaching and foster a positive employee experience.
- Labor Relations: Negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements and represent the company in grievance and arbitration proceedings.
- Talent Acquisition: Source, screen, and interview candidates while managing the hiring process for internal and external applicants. You will also coordinate recruitment and outreach at job fairs.
- Workforce Development: Audit training, assist with learning strategy for various departments, and coordinate summer camp activities and teacher externship programming.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old and a US citizen.
- Current full-time enrollment at a college or university.
- Completion of your Freshman year before the internship starts.
- Ability to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for at least eight consecutive weeks between May 2027 and September 2027.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with MS Office, strong attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Location & details#
This internship takes place during the Summer 2027 term. You must have reliable transportation and housing. Assignments may be located in Groton, CT, North Stonington, CT, New London, CT, or North Kingstown, RI.
