About the role#
This is a co-op position for the Winter 2027 term, spanning 8 to 16 months. You will join the System-of-Systems (SoS) Systems Engineering team to support the Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC5ISR) program. This program provides the Canadian Armed Forces with integrated tactical systems, including communication networks, battle management tools, and information management systems.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Department of National Defence to define operational requirements and capabilities.
- Create activity, sequence, use case, and block definition diagrams to outline mission scenarios.
- Develop system requirements, interface specifications, and end-to-end information flows.
- Manage traceability from high-level requirements to test artifacts.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to develop Operational and System Views.
- Support verification and validation activities, including writing test cases and producing Verification Cross Reference Matrices.
- Present status updates and conduct reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related scientific discipline at a recognized university.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated capability to meet commitments and deliver high-quality work products.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
