About the role#
The Finance and Accounting Associate Internship is a 10-week, full-time program designed to provide hands-on experience in financial operations. You will work alongside professionals to support government, defense, and intelligence projects. This role involves contributing to the collection, validation, and analysis of financial data that informs decision-making. You will also collaborate with a peer team to research and propose solutions to a current business challenge.
What you'll do#
- Provide research, data support, and analytical services for financial policy.
- Use modeling and analytics to understand how financial decisions impact the bottom line.
- Assist in planning and designing financial processes.
- Implement new data collections and leverage new tools.
- Formulate recommendations to improve financial activities.
- Interact with company leaders and participate in a mentoring circle.
- Engage in professional development sessions throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate, bachelor, or master degree program in finance, statistics, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- At least one semester of study remaining after the internship concludes.
- Proficiency in Excel, specifically data analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and charts.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build relationships in a remote environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and a nimble mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship scheduled for Summer 2027.
- The position is hybrid, requiring presence in Herndon, VA or Falls Church, VA for a minimum of three days per week.
- Sponsorship is not available for this role.
