About the role#
This paid summer internship program within the Chief Financial Officer organization offers students a chance to work on financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax projects. You will gain exposure to the finance operations and systems that support our business. This role is designed to help you build business acumen and prepare for a potential career in our analyst development program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Complete significant analyst projects and present findings to senior management.
- Learn GEICO finance and operations systems, including data integration points.
- Drive financial processing innovation and transformation.
- Partner with business stakeholders to analyze results and recommend investment decisions.
- Develop your analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Participate in professional development and social events while interacting with associates across the finance organization.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related analytical field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Demonstrated interest in the finance field through coursework, organizations, or previous experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PowerBI or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of GAAP reporting is preferred.

- Locations: Bethesda, Maryland or New York City, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week required in the office.
- Requirements: You must live within a commutable distance of the office. We do not provide sponsorship for employment authorization.
