About the role#
As an engineering intern in the Methods and Tooling group, you will join a multidisciplinary team focused on the mechanical design of hydroelectric turbines and alternators. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support the design and installation of turbine components while contributing to the organization's annual goals.
What you'll do#
- Improve calculation and design tools for special tooling.
- Support mechanical calculations and tooling design under the supervision of an engineer.
- Coordinate with site installation teams and the supply chain to improve design processes.
- Assist other engineering groups by performing complementary calculations.
- Write calculation notes in French or English for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Participate in the development of design guides.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least two years of a university degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Less than two years of work experience, excluding internships or co-ops.
- Interest in mechanical design and structural mechanics.
- Familiarity with strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibrations.
- Proficiency in written English.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
