About the role#
As a mechanical design intern, you will join the team responsible for the design and manufacturing of hydroelectric turbines. You will work alongside experienced engineers, drafters, and other professionals within a large engineering office. You will gain experience by supporting engineers on active projects or parallel development tasks as an active team member.
What you'll do#
- Perform mechanical design for heavy equipment used in hydroelectric turbines.
- Design associated special tooling for turbine projects.
- Support ongoing projects and development activities.
- Provide technical support to various internal departments.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams under the supervision of senior engineers.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least two years of university studies in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or related engineering fields.
- Less than 2 years of professional work experience outside of internships or summer jobs.
- At least one or two significant work experiences.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical calculations.
- Familiarity with strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibrations.
- Proficiency in CAD software, Word, and Excel.
- Mastery of written English.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Brossard, Quebec.
- The role is open to current students who will return to their studies after the term, as well as recent graduates who finished their studies within the last 2 years.
