About the role#
This internship offers a mix of office and field experience within our infrastructure projects. You will support our team in Lenexa, Kansas, during the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position that requires working on-site.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with field staff to review weekly material needs.
- Manage vendor interactions by reviewing RFQs for pricing and availability.
- Issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.
- Maintain equipment inventory and tracking logs.
- Coordinate the procurement and setup of storage containers.
- Organize equipment to maximize space efficiency.
- Schedule equipment maintenance and prioritize repairs.
- Forecast future equipment requirements.
- Manage equipment branding and coordinate project signage and deliveries.
- Determine traffic control requirements for project sites.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Civil Engineering or a construction-related discipline.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Comfort working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or stairs.
- Ability to work on active construction sites, which includes sitting, standing, and climbing.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and a self-motivated approach.
- Ability to communicate respectfully with all staff levels.
- Willingness to follow instructions and take direction.
